Review: Boots No7 Instant Radiance Concealer

What is it?

This is Boot's No 7 Instant Radiance Concealer. As you can see it comes in a pen form with a 'clicker' end which dispenses the product into the brush end in which you then apply the concealer to the skin. The packaging is especially designed for ease of use and compactability. The consistency of the product is a not too thick cream which is almost like a lotion. It's very cooling to the touch and blends in very well. It does not smell of anything in particular. I believe this pen contains 2.5ml of product but don't quote me on that because I'm not too sure.


Why does it claim do?
"Look like you've had a great night's sleep, even when you haven't, with No7's magic wand. This clever concealer works wonders under your eyes, reducing the appearance of dark circles and puffiness" - Boots Website.
No 7 suggest also that it has light reflecting particles which even out the dark circles of the eyes so it not only conceals your dread dark patches but also makes you look more awake. It also says on the packaging that you can use it on all the shadows on your face.
How I use it
I tend to apply this first with its own applicator around my entire eye and also the shadows around my nose, my chin and the shadows on the side of my face. I then blend it in with a cosmetic sponge. My favourite sponges are these

How did it work for me?
I personally adore this concealer; it's been one of the best concealers I have used (and I have quite a few). What I think separates this concealer from the others is that it instantly brightens up my face. My original favourite concealer was the MAC studio fix concealer which I think is amazing but that doesn't make me look awake but does cover up slightly more as you build it up on your skin. However I think the coverage for this concealer is very decent and it has the added bonus of the light reflecting properties as well as its great blendibility. It's not designed to conceal blemishes or red areas and I agree that it doesn't do a good job for that, for this I stil reach for my MAC concealer but for under eyes and shadows - this is fantastic.

How much did it cost? Where can I get it?
You can purchase this product Boots.com. This product is a No7 product therefore will be exclusively at Boots. It costs a reasonable £12.50, definitely worth the money.
My verdict?
I love that i can rely on this product to brighten up my day. It's easy to use, I can take it anywhere and the best thing is that it works wonders if you need to touch up during the day or when you're working over time! I would definitely re-purchase this and I think I've found the ultimate undereye drugstore concealer! I give this product a 4.5/5

Review: Eco Tools Make-up brushes

I only have the foundation, eye liner and shader brush but hopefully this will give you an insight on what they are all about.

What are they?
These brushes are made of bamboo, recycled aluminium and also are animal cruety free. Hence the name 'eco tools'. These brushes have won a PETA award for being kind brushes :D

There isn't much to say about these products compared to usual so I will go ahead and say you can buy these are Superdrug or Tesco if you're in the UK and apparently theyre easy to come by in the USA. They are relatively cheap as well.

Collective Haul

I'd been pleasantly intrigued when I first discovered Eyeko which wasn't long ago. I went to their website to peruse the products and so the first two I got were both creams available. I purchased a bronzing cream (see in videos both by Gemsmaquillage and Lollipop26) and also their 3in1 cream. Both products I am liking so far and liking the packaging even more. You actually get quite a lot of product which I am super pleased about.

I also purchased a few items from Coastal Scents and I started buying small there just to see what their shipping was like (considering I'm from the UK and they are in Florida, USA). I shipping was relatively fast and the price was great. However I didn't put any insurance on the items just because it would have been twice the price, I might consider for more expensive items next time.
Below you can see I got their Italian Badger Angle Brush and also their White Angled Liner brush, both of which came in immaculate state. The angle brush does really smell and I've wash it and it still smells. I think that bugs me.

I also went ahead and purchased the brush guards too and I am LOVING them! My 217 and 224 brushes from Mac no longer look derranged! YAY!

GOSH, Body Shop and ELF.co.uk Haul

Why can't I stop shopping?

I got some new stuff from Superdrug's GOSH, Bodyshop and Elf.co.uk


This is the ELF eyeshadow palette in Blue Moon. I'm trying to look for soft sultry colours other than brown and recently Lindy from Bubzbeauty has been mentioning her loves for greys and blues so it made me think that perhaps my brown neutrals are being overused and I should branch out into wearing a new neutral for the summer evenings. So I'm thinking soft purples, blues, greys and even yellows for this summer 2009.



I've never purchased any Body Shop hair products before and I think this range is relatively new (or am I just late?) therefore I couldn't help myself and added yet another volumizing mousse to my collection and straightening balm. I have so many of these products it's ridiculous but these have natural ingredients in it so apparently that justifies it.


You know that I love blending wedges and more often than not I will use wedges over my brushes for a more sheer look to blend in my foundation. I decided to give the ELF ones a go because they were cheap... Is it lame that I can't wait to try these?

So here is a Plumping lip glaze in Oasis from ELF and it is supposed to make lips fullers from its zingy ingredients inside. The packaging is quite adorable because it's actually a lot smaller than it seems which is actually a plus for me. What did you expect for £.1.50?
Also the Tone Correcting Concealer - I'm not expecting a lot but i'm hoping to find a gem amongst these cheap concealers. I get a bit anxious buying concealing products online just because of colour match problems but like I said, I'm not going to cry over £1.50. I'm not sure how I feel about the doe-foot applicator as I can see myself getting very very very freaked out about the hygiene issues.

Also you should see in the picture I went to Superdrug and went to the GOSH shelves and picked up their eyeliner in 'Banana' which was a loved product by Lollipop26. She says she uses it for her inner corners to open and brighten up her eyes and it's a nicer twist on white which can sometimes be a bit overwhelming, so I think this eyeliner should see me through summer.
Also I couldn't resist another concealer from GOSH and I purchased the one in Tone 2. I'm having this obsession with concealers but so far its very nice and comes in form of a shade stick - it feels creamy yet light weight, just the way I like it. So I'm dead excited!

here we have an All Over Cover Stick in Light which acts as a foundation/concealer. I have no idea how this is going to turn out but it seems quite creamy and easy to blend and is very small so will be great to take out with me if it turns out to be a winner. I do hope so!
And finally we have an All Over Color Stick which no doubt you can guess can be used to eyes, lips and cheeks. I think this will be lovely for cheeks but not so sure about eyes ...or lips for that matter. But I could imagine this being pretty nifty when I'm rushing out the house with no make up on. I purchased it in Pink Lemonade.

Starting a new summer wardrobe

Having used to being very in tune with my own fashion sense and style I've found that recently I've been neglecting my clothes and resorting to wearing whatever I had and spending whatever money I had on make-up; consequently I've been looking really dowdy so I'm going to go easy on the make up spending and try to buy more clothes.

I've started my new summer wardrobe, just wanted to share it with you guys. I've also taken to recycling old normal t-shirts into off the shoulder pieces and you can see that in my summer clothes haul vid on youtube.
